Wanna Know Something New About Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo? Just Click.!

Posted on 00:14 by Unknown

News Via Football ESPANA, through b/r

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a mega-million euro move to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford between 2003 and 2009, before a world record €80m transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Following on from reported delays in contract renewal talks and rumours on and off through the year that he might leave, the Daily Star allege today that United are piecing together a ‘complex financial package’ to return Ronaldo to them in the summer.

The British tabloid suggest that the Red Devils are looking to bring in new sponsorship partner Chevrolet to help provide a way around UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, and match the Portuguese’s current salary.

United would reportedly fund a £55m, €63.5m transfer to buy back the player and then agree a lower basic wage so as to remain within spending limits of their revenue streams. Then, Chevrolet would take on Ronaldo as a global ambassador as part of the transfer and cover the difference in his earnings.

Ronaldo’s agents are also speculated by the publication as exploring the commercial ventures possible for their client in the future and believe that they would tie in with a move back to the Premier League.

Abortion, gay marriages top deputy presidential debate. Via Capital FM

Posted on 22:01 by Unknown

NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 15 – The issues of the abortion, same sex marriage and reproductive health took centre stage during the first ever deputy presidential debate to held in Kenya.
During the debate which was organized by religious institutions, running mates of various formations seemed to take hard-line stands against the issues while others called for a more liberal approach.
CORD’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Jubilee’s William Ruto and UDF’s Jeremiah Kioni were adamant that their parties believe in family values and that talk about homosexuality and illegal abortion would not be tolerated.

“I personally hold the view that life begins at conception. I also believe in every individual’s right to life and therefore I clearly indicate my position that I am opposed to abortion,” stated VP Musyoka.

“Abortion is unconstitutional and it should remain as such. There should not be any grey area when it comes to the killing of anybody whether it is the killing of the mother or the child,” said Ruto.

The two agreed that their coalitions were objecting to the issue of same sex relationship because it had posed serious moral issues especially in a God fearing country like Kenya. They added that there is no religion that talks about homosexuality.

On his part, Kioni explained that he believes abortion is illegal.
“Think of the pain the unborn child goes through as abortion is being procured because nobody has been able to prove to us that, that it is not alive” said the UDF running mate.

However, it was Restore and Build Kenya party’s Winnie Kaburu and Joshua Onono of the Alliance for Real Change who came out strongly against abortion, use of contraceptives and same sex marriages with Kaburu equating abortion to murder while Onono quoted the Bible stating that “God abhors homosexuality.”

“Abortion is misuse of a woman’s body. When that life is in her, removing it is murder, murder! murder!” Kaburu declared.

On the issue of reproductive health, Kaburu minced no words by stating: “Nobody should be telling somebody about family planning. It should be between a family. In Kenya, we shouldn’t be talking about gay marriage, abortion. It should be a No.”

Eagle Alliance’s Ronnie Osumba faulted Kenyans for taking the high moral ground and suggested they should address the dangers posed by the new societal challenges.

Osumba added those who practice same sex marriage should be embraced instead of being judged.
“My concern is who makes the call on when abortion becomes necessary. I believe strongly that life begins at conception and we must uphold it as such but we still need to address the very tough question around who make the call when abortion becomes necessary particularly when protecting the life of the mother or the unborn child.”

“Biblically, sex is made for procreation but we cannot run away from the fact that same sex relationship have become rampant in our country it is an issue that needs to be addressed it is an issue that continues to permeate. Christians can’t turn a blind eye.”

The Jubilee Alliance’s deputy president candidate William Ruto said both he and Uhuru Kenyatta will make public their wealth.

Speaking during the debate organised by the religious institutions, Ruto was however not clear when he will go public, only saying that he will declare his wealth “when we come to that point,” after he was challenged by debate moderator Catherine Achienga.

“We believe that any public official who gets into office must make their wealth declaration and they must be public so that people can see and audit because we believe in direct public audit as the most efficient and effective way of getting things done.”

Ruto said the Jubilee Alliance had realised corruption thrived due to nepotism, secrecy in awarding security sector contracts and when incompetent people get into office.

“A Jubilee government will make every job competitive so that we get the men and women who deserve the positions that they will get.”

“We believe that corruption thrives in secrecy and therefore (and we have put it in our manifesto) every tender including tenders of huge security purchases like those of the army, those of the navy which cost billion of shillings will be subject to a competitive process supervised by Parliament. That is when we can stop the Anglo-leasing and the other grand corruption scandals this country has seen.”

CORD’s Kalonzo Musyoka said his 28 years in public life will enable him point loopholes where graft is perpetuated.

Oscar Pistorius to defend murder charge in court today. Via ZEENEWS.com

Posted on 21:01 by Unknown
Pretoria (South Africa): South African Paralympic and Olympic hero Oscar Pistorius is set to appear in court later on Friday, February 15, having been charged with murder after he shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Early reports suggested that it was a case of a Valentine`s Day surprise gone horribly wrong as Pistorius shot her thinking she was a burglar.

"Oscar Pistorius charged with murder for shooting his girlfriend"

But South African police have insisted that they want to press `murder` charges against the man popularly referred to as the `Blade Runner`, revealing that the police had previously been called in with regards some `domestic violence`. They have also confirmed that they wil oppose any bail application, adding to the rumours that they have a strong case.

While the South African athelte was due to appear in court yesterday, after he requested for an early hearing, the police deferred it to Friday so that the forensic team had ample time to carry out their investigations.

There was an overall reaction of utter disbelief as news of the Oscar Pistorius incident spread across the world via the various media outlets.

The mayor of Gemona, a small Italian town where Oscar trained ceaselessly last year while training or his Olympic debut, spoke to the media yesterday.

"The news shocked not only me personally but also the whole of Gemona and the region," said Mayor Paolo Urbani, "It`s come as a huge shock to everyone who knew him."

"I have to say Oscar was an exceptional testimonial for our project, helping the city take forward its sporting plans. He`s a delightful person, not only as a sportsman but also how he is as a human being. The news is still very fragmentary and we`re waiting to hear more, to find out exactly what happened."

"Who is Oscar Pistorius?"

Fellow Olympian and American athlete Nick Symmonds is good friends with Pistorius. He ound out about the matter when he switched on the TV at 6 in the morning.

"I was just shocked like everybody else," he said. "We`re going to have to let the courts down in South Africa sort out the facts."

Ato Boldon, four-time Olympic medalist, spoke in support of the `Blade Runner` adding that he`d be the last guy you`d ever think capable of murder.

"He exudes class. He`s gracious. He`s humble," he said.

The International Paralympic Committee said that since it was a "police matter", it would be "inappropriate for the IPC to comment on this incident until the official police process has concluded."

"The IPC would like to offer its deepest sympathy and condolences to all families involved in this case," it added.

Former 100-meter world record-holder Asafa Powell tweeted about Steenkamp`s death and the unfortunate incident: "Sad news about @oscarpistorius & fatal shooting of his girlfriend he`s a true inspiration & amazing athlete. A real tragedy for all," Powell wrote.

"It`s incredible for anyone involved with Oscar, especially his family," said former Italian pole vaulter Andrea Giannini, who had also coached the Blade Runner from 2009 to 2011.

"I knew Oscar well. I`m hoping it was just a tragic accident. He`s a marvelous person, a really sweet and calm guy. It seemed like this was a calm time for him. He seemed really happy and well-balanced."

Ronaldo 'anxious' heading into United clash. Via ESPN.co.uk

Posted on 22:07 by Unknown
Real Madrid midfielder Michael Essien says Cristiano Ronaldo is "anxious" to face former team-mates when Manchester United visit the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Ronaldo will take on United for the first time since moving to Spain in 2009, with expectation levels rising ahead of the game.

Much of the talk in the lead-up to the round of 16 Champions League fixture has centred on the Portuguese forward, and Essien revealed it has not gone unnoticed by the player himself.

"Cristiano is anxious; you want to start the game. He is in extraordinary physical condition," Essien said.
"In the Champions League it will be a different game. I'm ready and the team is as well. They have many attackers and it is up us to stop them.

"They are a fantastic team. It's a great game and I can't wait for it to start. We're not scared of being knocked out. It's another great game and the players are all really excited, really looking forward to playing. We know it will be very tough".

Meanwhile, Essien's team-mate Karim Benzema believes manager Jose Mourinho is motivated by the opportunity to defeat old foe Sir Alex Ferguson in the tie.

"I am sure there is something personal for Mourinho," Benzema is quoted as saying in The Sun. "When he was in England, every season he was fighting with Alex Ferguson for the title.

"Mourinho is a big winner and wants to win every game. But you can see what these games against Manchester United mean to him. There is an excitement is his voice."
