Former South African president Nelson Mandela has been admitted to a hospital in Pretoria for "medical attention," according to government sources.
Current President Jacob Zuma released a statement saying the visit was no cause for alarm, simply the result of his being 94 years old.
"The medical team is assured of our support as they look after and ensure the comfort of our beloved founding president of a free and democratic South Africa," spokesperson Mac Maharaj said.
